Apologetics and Evidence

The Bible teaches   at least   two different methods that the Holy Spirit uses to reach people.     In John 16:4-15, John Records Jesus saying,    “I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you. But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you...

It seems easy to label the Holy Spirit as divine. “But Peter said, “Ananias, why has  Satan filled your heart to  lie to the Holy Spirit  and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land? While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not at your disp osal? Why is it that you have contrived this deed in your heart? You  have not lied to men but  to God ” (ESV Acts 5:3-4). In this citation of the scriptures, we can clearly see that the Holy Spirit is labeled by Paul as God, giving the Holy Spirit equality with Him.               The Spirit’s divinity is not limited to something that doesn’t seem simple enough to derive this concept; In verse 19 of Matthew chapter twenty eight, one can clearly see that Jesus, one of the members of the Trinity, as well as one who is divine, commands us to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son [Jesus Him...

            When she came into the church office, I thought, “This... must be some kind of a joke.” She was dressed in all black. We know of the first problem the Bible presents, that there is a separation between God and man, and we know that Jesus alone is the mediator, the Savior, our redeemer, and our solution to the problem. Many of us however, do not understand the (second) problem we face after we are saved from our sins. Paul, on a huge discourse about the Law and sin in Romans, comes to a place inevitably examining his own sin. He says in Romans 7: Did that which is good, then, bring death to me? By no means!
